I think the way this is happening in both football and basketball is fascinating.
Forever I would look at teams we could beat and pick out a player I wished we had. Made me wonder if our path was better served by having more players ( depth) equal to our best players or did we just need to be able to recruit all the 4 and 5 stars. If our best DB last year was Zech, what if we had 4 like him?
I remember a few years ago beating UTEP by the skin of our teeth and watching Johnny Lee Higgins run away from us all night. I would have loved to get that guy.
Mylik Wilson intrigues the heck out of me. He would have likely been the best player on his team next year and one of the best in that league.
My thinking on who benefits most from this is different than those who believe the rich get richer. Those guys are already 3 deep with incredible athletes. Yeah...they will pilfer a player or two but they might suffer more losses as well with 4 star kids buried on the depth chart looking for PT.
I think Tech is in a very unique position where we can benefit from both blue bloods losing kids for PT and getting quality players from lesser leagues.
Thoughts?
