Emotion will win out. Just like one game was the main reason for a contract extension four years ago next month, so will emotion rule again. Beat what is now a 6-6 Texas team and we'll just just kick this can down the road another year.

Kirby badly wants to keep Kliff, since it was he who hired and extended him. A 6th win and a bowl game will give the him the band aid needed to put over a gaping wound. Plus it saves him $6.7 million.

Congrats, Kliffers. He'll still be around. Mediocrity reigns. Now, let's get to work on saving this 55th-ranked recruiting class.
