If Tech hires Briles, the following will occur:
1. National and statewide media will crucify Tech.
2. Tech will lose a good chunk of fan and financial support.
3. More info becomes public, making Briles involvement worse than feared.
4. Briles will have lost his mojo, and finds duplicating success at public university and under tighter scrutiny impossible.
5. Briles and Tech mutually agree to call it quits after four years. Tech back to square one.

BUT, if Tech passes, he will be hired by another P5 school in which the following will occur:
1. Media changes tune, falling for the irresistible second-chance story.
2. Support does not waver as fans and alumni take a wait-and-see attitude.
3. More info becomes public, and while not innocent, paints Briles as more of a scapegoat to Baylor system failure.
4. Briles is energized and totally focused on regaining his stature and new team begins to win 10-plus games, compete for conference titles and CFB berths.
5. Under new coach Sonny Dykes, Tech goes 3-9, 4-8 and 4-8 and begins making overtures into Mountain West membership.

That's just the way Tech football go.

Pay Leach. End the curse.
