Beard and his staff threw size at young in waves and changed the tempo of the defense all damn night.
Evans is silky smooth on defense. Not super quick, but long arms and cerebral.
Smith is a bulkier body who gets into you and is truly a player who sees the game/floor like a senior.
Niem is a frenetic and keeps going going going on defense. He may look like a 7 month old lab running around hair on fire, but he plays hard and seems to annoy players.
Culver is just long and deliberate. You can get past him but he will stay on your hip and he forces you to shoot leaning forward to create space which isn't easy. He will also get his arm up to 9 feet at extension.
Francis is a dog. We need him to be even more of a dog and to motivate the other guys that this team is good enough. When Francis gets bodied, he punches back.
Hats off to beard and his staff for keeping the best player in the country off balance and showing recruits and future red raiders that it won't be long before we are a friggin national power.
