.....February 24th, 1980........a Sunday morning the US Olympic hockey team completes their miracle, beating Finland 4-2 to claim the gold medal and to forever etch their names in the history of American sports legends............their medal presentation celebration was epic........

Their head coach Herb Brooks delivered one of the most dramatic, memorable and surely briefest and to the point sports locker room speeches ever..........in the break between the 2nd & 3rd period, with his team behind on the scoreboard 2-1, Coach Brooks entered the locker room, looked into his players eyes, and coldly said to them "if you lose this game, you'll take it to your f_____g graves....to your f_____g graves !!" and then he turned and walked out of the room. His team took his words to heart and went out and dominated the Fins 3-0 in the final period....

Of course one of the beneficiaries of these historic events was Al Michaels, and he was very good announcing all the games, especially considering coming into the 1980's Olympics he had only covered one hockey game previously.....he said coming into the games he wanted the speed skating gig, but it was given to Keith Jackson...........that Olympics in speed skating American skater Eric Heiden was predicted to win 5 gold medals, which he did, and that was thought to be the story of these Olympics.....until a miracle happened............
