I told a few friends on Sunday that this week could be the best week in sports for me for the year with Tech playing in the Natty followed by the Masters. I think I mentioned it last year, but The Masters really is the Super Bowl for me in terms of professional competition events. I just love the history, and tradition of the tourney and what they try to do for a week every year.

With that said there's quite a few story lines i'm following this week:
El Tigre: hasn't won the Masters since what, 2005? However, he's playing pretty decent golf right now and is driving the ball more accurately then maybe he ever has. He gets up for this event every year and he's always in contention more times than not.
Rory: Fresh off his win at the Players what can we expect? Played in the final group at the Masters last year but was a complete no show on Saturday. Hopefully the Players helped him remember how to finish a tournament again because he's already been in a lot of final groups this year and hadn't closed until the players. Would love to see him get a jacket
Fred Couples: Can Freddy continue to make the cut? The guy still has such a beautiful swing but it's painful to watch with him wearing a back brace and always seeming to look uncomfortable.
Paul Casey: He's finally turned the corner and is playing good golf. He's always performed "ok" in majors but will be interesting to see how he plays this year.
Dustin Johnson: I don't think he's missed a cut this year and his game is made for this course: Drive it far and then play great wedge shots.
Zach Johnson: He's not a long hitter but never count this guy out at this tournament.
Kevin Kisner: This guy may be the best putter on tour. He just won in Austin two weeks ago and I think could be in contention late. Can he finish though?
Francesco Molinari: This guy is the most un-italian italian out there except maybe Davide Moretti. Italians have shown over history (WW2) they aren't "alphas" and lack killer instincts but this guy has all of that. His practice routines resemble Coach Beards practices- a sense of urgency and every shot counts. I could see him easily winning.
Justin Rose: He's been real close to winning this thing. Just made the equipment change but hasn't seemed to miss a beat.. Look for him to be in contention.
Jordan Spieth: I don't think anyone has found the kind of early success that Spieth has at Augusta. Since he's turned pro he his results are: T2, 1, T2, T11, T3. Absolutely incredible and he's 2 duffed wedges away from a T2 turning into a 1. He's finally playing some better golf too and seems to have figured out the issues with his putter. Look for him to be in contention on Sunday.

I'm calling it: Look for Charlie Hoffman to be in the top 5 heading into Saturday and then fade into the abyss.

I'll personally be rooting for Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Thomas, Rory, Xander Shauffele, and Tiger. I'll be rooting against Patrick Reed and Sergio Garcia.
