evidence is piling up that an ecosphere could be under the ice on Enceladus. I would think Titan might harbor life also. These moon are where we should send probes to land and drill under the ice.
I have no doubt that we will eventually find life off this planet, but what will it mean if anything? I don't think anyone will really be surprised. Still we can't fold space as Frank Hurbert did in his novel DUNE. We are trapped by the speed of light and that forever binds us to this solar system. Communication outside of our solar system is a moot point.
Still it would be nice if we can verify life under those moons surface ice, but not in my lifetime. We can't put together a probe, send it there and drill down within the next 15 to 20 years.
