I had a bad experience with a financial guy with a large financial services firm that actually had managed several portfolios in the family over many years. Of course, my own fault to for not asking many questions along the way. Was a lost 5 years, but it woke me up in a big way.

Been doing my own thing for 3 1/2 years and pretty happy making 14.2% analyzed over that time.
I am 100% equity - split 60% ETFs and 40% individual stocks. I only buy large global companies in individuals for the most part that have beat the S&P over the last 5 years and look to do so in the future.

I love Mastercard, Visa, Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, JP Morgan, Amazon, United Healthcare, Amgen, Lockheed Martin, Abobe, NVIDIA, and a few others, but my favorite ETF I discovered focuses on Healthcare Medical Devices - Symbol IHI - Analyzed 26%. Also, solid performance in Insurance related ETFs....symbols KBWP and KIE - analyzed about 15-16% each since holding.

Not a believer in holding investable cash for that right opportunity...….there is always undervalued places to put money in the market so I am 100% in at all times.

Next year very well may be like this year.
