Football is still the same as it was 50 years ago regardless of what offense you run.
Whoever wins the LOS, wins the game...period. Our offense did not suck because of Nic, our offense sucked because they were creating pressure with 3 down lineman and dropping 8 into coverage.
Our defense could not create pressure with 5-6 guys blitzing. They had guy's open all night and just played pitch and catch.
I've seen this silly notion of putting a spy on Rudolph. First, he is not the type of QB you should "spy", second, had we used a spy in him, they would have scored on every possession.
Until we can win the LOS, we will never have an explosive offense, we will never have a good defense (and it will look like the secondary's fault) and we will never have a decent running game.
I'll be honest, I'm worried we are going to have a tough go during conference play. From my take, OSU has about the 4th best defensive line. And with their injuries on the OL, maybe the 5-6th best offensive line. When healthy, they are top 2 on the offensive line.
