Personally...I am very very close to libertarian and pretty much believe we should just allow the economy to BE the economy without any central planning. If that occured most issues we face could be righted with market forces. [monetary policy might need to change]

However...I am wondering if the manipulation of the economy combined with the exponential growth of technology has caused a huge gap in having people be able to find employment. Government and social mandates have caused crazy high wages and costs of living. That has forced industry to invest in technology as a more efficient way to do business and to survive the current malaise. Meanwhile...we are seeing more and more people on government aid and employable numbers dropping. Have we cause a permanent underemployed group that will only grow?
