My friends and I started listing the crappy things the decade of suck has brought Saturday night, here is our list. I am sure we missed some things and chose to ignore some, feel free to add or correct. For those brave enough to read you may want a strong pour of bourbon,,, or heroin, its that bad.

Chad Glasgow is hired as DC but would not last a year in Lubbock.
After starting 4-0 we finish 1-7, the lone win was a lightning delay win over #3 OU
"Dollar" Bill “Burn in Hell” fabricates bus-gate
TCU and WVU invited to join Big 12-2
After 21 consecutive seasons of being bowl eligible and 11 consecutive years of bowl games we fail to win 6 games.
National attention for a solid hit lands Tech in the spotlight, unfortunately it was not a hit made by the defense but Tuberville slapping a headset off a GA.
Jace Amero, was sidelined a good portion of the season due to a lacerated to his spleen

Another season and yet another defensive coordinator, Art Kaufman replaces Glasgow
National attention for a solid hit lands Tech in the spotlight, unfortunately it was not a hit made by the defense but Tuberville slapping a headset off a GA.
While entertaining recruits at 50 Yard line Tuberville leaves in the middle of the meal to accept a job at G5 Cincinnati, Kirby is notified while at his sons soccer game the next day.
Tech fans end the season on a high note with a bowl win and the hiring of Kingsbury as the next head coach.

Kliff fills his staff with several of our favorite sons returning to Lubbock, with hindsight we now know the dumpster fire it would result in.
Matt Wallerstedt hired as the 4th defensive coordinator for Tech in as many years.
In the tradition of Tech athletes being ignored on a national award list Jace Amero is snubbed by not being placed on the Mackey Award watch list.
Hopes were high for our new coach as Tech roars out of the gate 7-0 and proceeds to lose all remaining games.
While all that may seem like enough bad stuff for one year fate said hold my beer. A walk on QB starts the season and is later replaced Davis Webb after injuring his knee resulting in a QB controversy. Only in time would we realize the scourge it would lead to as he announces his transfer to OU in December.

In the off-season Native son Sonny Cumbie leaves Tech for the same position to rival TCU and Eric Morris assumes our next OC
Prior to the start of the season Kingsbury is granted a contract extension through 2020.
Corner back Nigel Bethel charged with felony assault for hitting a female basketball player at the rec.
Tech’s walk on QB now at ou takes every opportunity to run Tech & Kliff through the mud claiming Tech would not offer a scholarship and makes his battle to not follow Big 12 transfer rules a public battle with his dad calling Kliff a scoundrel
For a change of pace Tech begins the season with no changes at defensive coordinator. However, it is short lived as Wallerstedt did not make it to the 4th game of the season due to an alleged drug problem. Mike Smith is named defensive coordinator to finish the season.
To add insult to injury Wallerstadt apparently sells our hand signals to our opponents.
Tech finishes with a 4-8 record the fewest wins for a Tech squad since the 1990 squad

49-28 loss to Arkansas, the second half was a game of keep away running the ball with Tech unable to make a stop.

Big 12 changes transfer rule to accommodate the former walk on and ou. While you think it would end Tech being slandered over the incident it stays a major news story.
David Gibbs becomes Texas Tech’s 6th defensive Coordinator in as many years.
The only bright spot was a win over 45-45 thanksgiving win over ut

Finally, some consistency at defensive coordinator, unfortunately the results stay the same finishing the season 126 out of 127 in total defense.
With Pat Mahomes putting up video game offensive numbers Tech continue to find unique ways to not play defense resulting in yet another losing season.

Eric Morris leaves to be HC @ Incarnate Word and Kevin Johns is hired to be OC
Bad luck follows the raiders as season starter McClane Carter is injured in the second drive of the first game of the season.
Allen Bowman steps up until he of course is also injured in the game against WVU where he suffers a collapsed lung.
After starting a respectable 5-2 Tech proceeds to drop the last 5 games of the season sealing Kliffs fate.

51-46 ou it’s not the score but how Tech lost. Attempting to tie with a 2 point conversion OU returns the turnover 100 yards to go up 44-40
Kliff Kingsbury is fired
During the press conference announcing the coaching change Kirby uses the word “Elite” multiple times to describe who he is targeting for our next coach.
Dana Holgerson, Neil Brown, Art Briles and Seth Latrell, et al and even former coach Mike Leach are fan favorites.
Matt Wells announced as the next head coach, a name many find to come from out of nowhere and few identified with “Elite”
