Mac McClung is taking his game to a different level
After being known as a volume scorer at Georgetown, McClung has become an efficient offensive player at Texas Tech. Over his last seven games, the 6-2 junior is averaging 21.9 points while shooting 50.9 percent from the field and 43.1 percent from three-point range. Those are incredible numbers for a guy who shot 39.4 percent from a field a year ago when he was with the Hoyas. Another thing to love about McClung? No player in the sport is tougher in between the ears. Armed with an unwavering sense of belief, McClung missed a game-winning shot in the final seconds last Monday at West Virginia, but rallied himself to spur a comeback victory on Saturday at LSU. In fact, it was McClung’s deflection which allowed Terrance Shannon Jr. to get a decisive layup against the Tigers in the final seconds of the game. Texas Tech will look to continue its momentum tonight in Lubbock against Oklahoma.
