Is that we get to keep watching this team play basketball together. No matter what happens when this ride ends, we'll never get to have this same group of players, coaches, and staff all together building towards winning basketball games again. I'm just glad we get at least one more opportunity to watch these dudes go to work together. So many things about last night's game that epitomize what this season has been.

  • D5 is the heart of this team. Darrion Williams might miss some easy looks, but man does he make the toughest shots look so easy. The absolute massive stones this dude has to be able to hit that 3 to tie the game with under 10 seconds left and back down the Arky player to put Tech up in OT. D5's calm demeanor and pure joy to play basketball are always on display, never more so than last night.
  • JT Toppin is your Big 12 POY, (should be 1st team) 2nd Team All American, and can absolutely carry the team offensively when needed and has really elevated his defense over the year. JT is an absolute DAWG in every sense of the word.
  • Christian Anderson. Man what can't be said about the baby-faced-killer. A grizzled vet in a 16 year old body that is never afraid of the moment. A rough tournament for him so far, including a tough first half, and he comes out and makes every shot he needs to in the second half. The lights are never too bright for this dude.
  • Elijah Hawkins having such a tough night shooting with some uncharacteristically poor TOs early, but finding himself on defense and absolutely clamping down Arkansas' guards for so much of the game. Not to mention his absolutely crucial 3 late.
  • Kevin Overton coming off the bench and putting the team on his back for a long stretch in the first half and playing some extremely solid defense throughout the game.
  • Fede two times with an all time performance. Played his ass off, just gritty, tough minutes when we needed them most. The possession where he secured 4 or 5 offensive boards and then got the tip-in was an absolute thing of beauty. Fede has had some rough stretches throughout the year, but man did he come in clutch when we needed him most.
  • Walton didn't have his best night with the way Arky guarded him, but the flatline level demeanor is such a plus. Can come out and give some great minutes to relieve one of the other guys or may just drop 7-8 deep balls right in the defense's face.
  • Chance McMillian is the soul of this team, man. We know what he brings to the team on the court with his ability to shoot, lights out defender, and ability to drive the ball when it's needed, but he brings so much off the court. Chance is an absolute warrior in every sense of the word.
