Texas Tech.
“Their defense is different than anything you normally face. They keep you on the sides and switch everything. They over-help at times, so if you can get ball movement you can beat them off the dribble. But you’ve gotta jump stop because they take all those charges. Bryson Williams is a matchup nightmare. If you put a guard on him, he’ll post you up. Kevin McCullar does a little bit of everything for them and even plays point guard, although he’s not a pure point. Mark (Adams) brought in guys that played 30 minutes plus for their teams last year, and they all play their asses off even though they’re getting half the minutes. Terrence Shannon Jr. has been hurt, but he can be more of an iso player when they’re a ball movement team, which is why they’ve played well without him. They don’t have a true rim protector. If they go up against a team like Illinois or Purdue that has great size, it’s gonna be a problem. A team that rebounds well could give them trouble. If they don’t score off their defense they could struggle a little bit because they’re not a great offensive team.”
