Many of us have wondered what Tech might do with their new 10th assistant position, including myself. Tonight, I was told that Coach Kingsbury's first priority there is to try to hire another defensive staff member. Now, beyond the basics of that, I'm not sure what that would look like.
Is it a heavy-lifting recruiter? Is it a guy who can take on a big coaching load somewhere like at ends, maybe safeties? I'm not sure on those optics.
But it does appear that Coach Kingsbury would like to go defense first based off what I'm hearing. No guarantee he'll end up making a defensive hire, but I think that's the way they'll go out of the gates here.
