Tech ends a month long homestand this weekend playing the University of South Florida Bulls. We will roll out our usual three weekend starters Birdsell, Monteverde, and Montgomery.
PITCHING MATCHUP
Gm 1: RHP Brandon Birdsell (2-1, 3.57 ERA) vs. RHP Jack Jasiak (2-2, 1.64 ERA)
Gm 2: LHP Patrick Monteverde (4-0, 0.93 ERA) vs. RHP Dylan Burns (1-2, 3.38 ERA)
Gm 3: LHP Mason Montgomery (1-0, 3.18 ERA) vs. RHP Collin Sullivan (0-0, 6.30 ERA)
USF is 9-9 on the season and haven’t really played anyone of note. They did sweep Stetson who is 14-7 on the year. They hit .290 as a team but hit .240 against left handed pitching. Eight of their nine main starters hit .250+ with three guys hitting over .300 and AAC player of the week Carmine Lane hitting .400
Their three starters average over a strikeout per inning. Hopefully our bats get back on track before we hit the road and take on a good K-State ball club with probably the Big12’s best pitcher and likely first round draft pick Jordan Wicks.
Tadlock mentioned in his weekly show that we might see Dillon Carter this weekend. I’m guessing he would like to see him playing at home before hitting the road to the Little Apple. Fingers crossed.
