It just seems like every week in the 2015 season, the Tech DL has faced a ton of size and experience on the OL. This week is no different. TCU returns 4 Senior starters on the OL. While most of the media coverage is given to Boykin, Green and Doctson.. the fact that TCU has this much experience on the OL could be a big reason for that #3 ranking. However, I've watched all 3 of their games this year and was unimpressed with their ability to give Boykin time and much of the run game success has come off spreading teams out and letting Green bounce and pick a hole. Their WR group is great at winning the ball in the air with athleticism. This OL struggled against Minnesota and Boykin took a lot of hits in the pocket.
I look for Gibbs to go with some different personnel this week and maybe just try to keep contain on Boykin. Most of his big plays come when he steps up through the pocket or rolls out and coverages break down. If we can force him to read the defense and confuse him with coverages, we could see more turnovers as Dr. Gibbs prescribed. Our edge rushers need to come in under control and force him to make the right read.
