Just left Dan Law Field after speaking with coach Tadlock. Learned some interesting stuff.

On Sam Houston and the challenges of the weekend:

"Yeah, just excited about getting the guys out there and playing at home from our home crowd. I think Sam Houston's got a very competitive team. I think they're leading their league right now and we're good challenge for our guys."

On Starting Rotation:

"Yeah, we just need those guys, each one, to keep coming. And you can kind of feel it with Trendan a little bit and with Mason over the last probably three weeks and those guys seem like they're getting a better feel and getting better rhythm and timing. As far as Mason and Trendan go you want that to keep coming and then obviously Petty's had some starts, as has Taber Fast. Taber had a setback last week. Was something other than arm stuff and so excited about watching those guys and that's gonna be a big key."

On Girton:

"It was probably the biggest surprise of last week. And then, you know, he kind of got knocked down the week before against Baylor and really felt like he's in a position to really respond to that last week. We gave him two clean innings and said here's clean innings, go pitch. We're gonna try to find the right opportunities to get him in the game and get him going again but at the same time some other guys are throwing the ball that are probably in front of him at this point."

On RPI:

"I think we're still in a position where if you take care of what's in front of you, you should be in a good spot and that's probably created by still having a road trip going to West Virginia. We're going to try to control what we can control trying to go win the day. We're gonna do that kind of see where the chips fall."
