TL/DR - how could T-cells be involved in inconsistencies in Covid response between individuals?
I’m certainly no science guy. I have just been confused with our own situation. My daughter tested positive for Covid but hasn’t had any symptoms. We had a friend of hers that was exposed to her, quarantine with us for 10 days including sleeping in the same bed, all eating together as a family, etc. (we had already been doing that assuming her test would be negative based on no symptoms at all, just a known exposure) The friend tested negative yesterday.
None of the rest of our family is showing any symptoms either. ( I’m missing Midland’s best golf tourney over this so I’m ticked.)
All that to ask a question on a topic I have little idea about. Just stumbled across an article on t-cell response to the virus with a theory that if people had t-cell memory from previous coronavirus infections in years past that may be why many are not getting or are not showing symptoms of the virus. Also why some who have had the virus have little or zero antibody evidence. Haven’t seen anything on t-cells in all the virus talk heavily until recently. I know we have folks on here who know a lot about all things so just seeing if anyone with knowledge thinks this is crazy or if there may be something to it.
