- as we all know, mahomes is everything that is awesome about sports and will have his name on the stadium with the other tech hall of famers
- as awesome as mahomes is, deandre washington is the key to this offense and is one of the very best running backs in tech history. hopefully stockton and white step up next year because deandre's production is going to be impossible to replace
.5 - jakeem grant will be missed almost as much. time to step up big time young wrs
.75 - same for leraven clark
.99 - man, we've got a lot of questions on offense after the season ends. thankfully qb isnt one of them, i suppose
- weird offensive game overall. our offense was obviously very much limited because of mahomes' injury, but we got a ton of very timely penalties that kept drives alive. luckily baylor commits 10x the penalties that tcu does because if pat is still hobbled, we will need the extra help
- i could have died right after the game feeling like i led a fulfilling life if leraven clark got a touchdown on the last play of the game. if i had remained alive then i would have gotten the scene tattooed on my back
- the defense is what it is but we need to extend gibb's contract an extra 2 years today. hes going to need that much time to get a good defense on the field. getting gashed for 700+ yards sucks but most of the best players on our team are underclassmen: bethel, allen, moore, madison, fehoko, etc. wish the recruiting focus on defense had occurred a couple years earlier but its coming together a bit this year
- if we keep it close with baylor (or obviously win straight out) then we are going to be a fixture in the top 25 before too long. as much as everything aligned for tech this past weekend, everything is going against tech for next weekend. injury bug is biting, players are physically and emotionally depleted, baylor has played 3 scrimmage games + a bye and are completely healthy, neutral site, cannon + coleman, baylor isnt missing most of their defense, etc etc etc. this may be the biggest coaching test kingsbury will ever have
- hopefully we found a fg kicker. this is the missing piece for our offense, particularly if mahomes isn't 100%. penalties really helped us out in no-mans land this week, but it would be really nice to have an option to get a sure 3 points from 40 or so in
- nit picking individual calls is silly. everyone would call kingsbury the next barry switzer if we were able to hold them on 3rd and 22 or had we run out the clock at the end.
- as glad as i am to never play boykin again (and likely meachum and perhaps cumbie), im 10x more happy to never play doctson again. if tcu makes it to the playoff, it will be due to his super human ability. they are gonna be hurting next season missing those two, listenbee and aaron green. i already want to fast forward to this game next year because we are going to chainsaw tcu to death
- after the last two weeks the team knows they can hang with anybody in the country and the fans know it too - our home field advantage is back after a long 7 year hiatus
- nobody in the country has the stones that this team does. this is my favorite tech team ever. beat baylor.
