Bored at home so I decided to check out some of the sparq scores of our commits from ESPN's recruiting, which if you don't know are electronically measured athletic data, like laser 40 times, power throws, 20yd shuttles, etc., forming the basis for a collective score. And I think Mike Mitchell has the record score ever iirc (laser 4.3 forty. unbelievable).
Not a lot of available scores for our commits, which means not all participated in sparq combines, but the few commit scores are really impressive. Below i just included the 40 times and overall sparq scores because that's usually what interests this board the most.
Jett Duffey: 4.60 laser 40 time (which is damn fast for a qb). Overall 86 sparq rating, which is upper echelon, just below elite territory. We reallllly have an athletic QB in this guy. He certainly could play a few different positions at his size and speed. It's apparent why Kliff was dedicated to landing him.
John Picone: Respectable 4.85 laser 40 time, and a really impressive 88 sparq rating. Plus athleticism compared to what we historically have at that position, and good foundational size at 216. Probably walks into his first camp 10 more pounds.
Houston Miller: at 228lbs, ran a 4.67 laser 40 time. Put that into context, 4 star WR Reggie Hemphill (UT Commit) ran 4.63 at 172lbs. Overall 105 sparq score, which is elite. The guy's athleticism is off the charts in comparison to most guys at his size. I would be inclined to put him at Pete's position or at MLB and have a bad ass that can chase down backs and still cover. Major potential.
Jordyn Brooks: Another bad ass time for a guy at 223lbs, 4.67 laser 40 time, 86 sparq score. Add him to the list and we have formidable athleticism at a position we are historically fraught with lack of size and speed.
