So I’m graduating in May with History/Coaching degree. I’ve always planned on being a coach, basketball in particular. But I’ve also always wanted to do some football. I’ve had the opportunity to do a little part time assistant work at some really small schools (6 man).
But as I get closer to finally being in the game for good, I want to be as prepared as possible to coach multiple different positions. I played WR/DB in High School. I was average at best as an athlete. Was a barely serviceable at DB, but I was a decent slot receiver. I wasn’t fast, but I ran good routes and could catch, and more importantly went to a really small school. So I feel confident in coaching receivers, decent about DBs (although a lot may have changed since I was playing). But I want to be able to coach QBs, RBs, DBs, really any and all pos groups, just so I have more job opportunities. Basketball is my sport, that’s what I want to coach long term, so I don’t ever really aspire to be a Head football coach, but being an OC would be something I would really enjoy some day too.
The point of all this, I’m decent with Xs and Os, especially at the positions I played. But what resources are out there that can take me from- I can recognize some stuff on TV, to- I can teach it at a fairly high level?
Thanks in advance
