I happen to know one of new preferred walk-on QB Nick Gerber’s former coaches. He sent me some info with his opinion on the former Levelland signal caller:
- Has all the qualities you want in a QB. Smart, strong arm, mobile, accurate. He’s got the intangibles too, natural leader and wants to be great.
- Great basketball and baseball player, all around athlete.
- was handed the keys to the offense in Levelland and asked to do a lot. Pre snap reads that determined RPO, which led to post snap reads. He had a huge hand in turning that program
- As a kid, none better. Would not shock me if he plays. Would’ve been recruited much better had he been at a bigger program somewhere in DFW.
