Seeing a lot of blame game posts on this board tonight. Knee jerk reactions had me doing the same thing but here is the deal...We just flat out got beat tonight. Take a look at the numbers:

TCU: 750 yards total (527 passing and 223 rushing); 37 first downs
TTU: 607 yards total (392 passing and 215 rushing); 32 first downs

The only part of that game we won was penalties. I wouldn't use the refs as an excuse tonight. Calls went both ways. If Mahomes had been healthy the entire game I think it would have been a very different result. But we had no answer for Doctson or for their rush play to our left side of the DLine. Pretty sure they ran the same play on us three times in a row in the fourth for a score. Just got beat and we were fortunate to be in it at the end.

Now here is the good news. I thought our defense played so much better in the second half. We have said time and time again that we just need this D to get us the ball back a few times. Make a few stops. Give our offense the opportunity to put teams away. Our defense did that tonight. If not for a tip drill they would have done it twice in a row and won us the game! We were playing one of the best offenses in the entire country tonight (which was not riddled with injury) and in the end we stood tall. With a healthy Mahomes thru that full game I believe we would have won. A tip drill fluke would never have been a factor. But that was not to be. Instead our team fought and clawed to take us down to a fluke play with 23 seconds let and I am damn proud of them for it.

We face another one of the best offenses in the nation next week and I hope our team is ready bc we 100% can win that game! Do it and we are still very much in the hunt to have a season that exceeds every one of our preseason expectations. I for one think that we will. Wreck'em!

PS. I'm drunk
