Seems like a lackluster schedule for the Big 12 in week 2 with only OU playing a "major" game. They head to Knoxville with 110,000 Vols fans ready to welcome them.
But, on closer look there might be some upset specials in the works with some of our Big 12 brethren being on the wrong end.
11:00 am K State @ UTSA
UTSA only lost by 10 at Arizona last week. Plus K State is officially in crisis mode at QB. I think K State wins because you know that guy named Snyder, but this might get interesting.
3:45 pm Iowa @ Iowa State
Iowa is just the better team, but the reason this one is interesting is it will be the first test for the Cyclones. Are they the same ole Clones or do they have a little more than usual? A gauge game at Jack Trice. Iowa wins though.
6:00 pm Memphis @ Kansas
Kansas is turrible. Like a bad wreck you just can't look away and Memphis was a solid team last year that went to a bowl. Jayhawks lost to the Jacks and now they may get beat up by the Tigers. The quest for 0-12 continues.
7:00 pm Rice @ Texas
Well, I don't have to remind you what we saw in South Bend. It was enjoyable and brutal. If you aren't aware though, Rice isn't terrible and they are well coached. This is my what if game of the week. Texas is in chaos mode right now, what if Rice goes in and just plays smart, turnover free football? What if Texas is in the middle of one of the greatest implosions we have ever seen? What if Rice wins? The devastation would be glorious.....(not counting on it though)
and of course UTEP @ Texas Tech
plenty of talk about this one I'd say. Just hoping Tech gets it all clicking before we head into Fayetteville.
So yea, on paper it looks like a slow weekend but really there are a lot of story lines to watch. Go Owls!
