It seems to me that the NCAA basically giving everyone a free year in 2020 is particularly beneficial for a program like ours. Top schools are replenished with talent year after year. For Tech, it’s a challenge and we don’t have much room for error. One bad recruiting cycle could have ramifications for several years.

We loaded up on grad transfers, some of whom now have three full seasons to play. The ones we thought we’d only get for one year now have two years. Having proven maturity and Power 5 talent while giving us an extra year to replenish the younger areas of the depth chart is a huge deal.

We all want HS recruiting to improve. This rule change seems to buy us time. And while it benefits all programs, I think a program like ours that’s main goal is acquiring roster talent is especially fortunate.

Maybe I’m being captain obvious but hadn’t seen this discussed specific to Tech yet. Love the grad transfers we’re getting, now let’s go get HS OL and DBs.
