A couple of pointers:

1) Southern Maid Donuts. These are piping hot, whole donut will melt in your mouth glazed donuts. Only get them fresh and hot. Look for the HOT sign on the side of I-20 down the street from the stadium. A lot of history with this location.

2) Margaritas at Superior Bar & Grill. All it takes is two. If you go past that, good luck! And if you eat, the El Paso is the best plate on the menu and the wife loves the queso blanco.

3) Herby Ks. This is a dive bar and restaurant popular with locals and tourists. I always enjoy the ice cold schooners and catfish. Don’t go past dark. This is a Saturday afternoon type place.

4) Ernest’s. Old school classic Cajun restaurant for dinner. Can’t go wrong with the marinated crab claws and flaming desserts.

5) Frank’s Pizza. Italian margaritas are good and strong. Nicer restaurant in the “nicer” part of town with an all around great menu.

6) Oyster Bar & Grille. Local favorite for grilled seafood and oysters. Strong margs here too.

7) Beaujax Crafthouse. Good place to spend a few hours before the game.

Shreveport is a $hithole but here are some solid places to enjoy yourself while you’re there.
