In addition to his ranking of Texas Tech 18th in the AP poll this week, Seth Davis wrote a piece for the Athletic. I found an interesting exerpt:

"• I know everyone wants to proclaim the end of Kansas’ 14-year streak of owning at least a share of the Big 12 regular-season title, but you know what? I’ll believe it when I see it. After their embarrassing 29-point loss at Texas Tech on Saturday, the Jayhawks now trail Kansas State by two games in the league standings and Texas Tech by one. However, Kansas hosts Kansas State tonight in Allen Fieldhouse. If KU wins the game and its last three, then K-State and/or Texas Tech would have to win its remaining games to close this thing out. Otherwise, the Jayhawks could still sneak in through the backdoor. Hey, stranger things have happened.

• Speaking of Kansas, it’s pretty amazing that Quentin Grimes only attempted three shots in the loss in Lubbock. I spy a crisis of confidence."

After breaking down several other big ticket games from the weekend, Seth Davis gets to the Texas Tech vs. Kansas game. Completely ignores the actual performance in the game and just wants to touch on the fact that Kansas can still win the league.

I shouldn't care, but the fact that we played lights out against a higher ranked team, played incredible defense in the first half, and had our best shooting performance of the season are all completely ignored to talk about the fact that KU can still win the league.

Calls the 29 point loss embarrassing, as if we're some random unranked team that hasn't won 5 straight by a margin of 25 points a game.

Am Rustled Westbrook.
