Pretty crazy time to be switching jobs in oil and gas, but I was fortunate enough to land a new job opportunity as an engineer for a company based out of Addison. I will be moving to Dallas with my wife and 2 little girls here in the next few weeks if we can get our current house under contract (moving from OKC).

I grew up in Lubbock and have spent a good amount of time around DFW, so I am somewhat familiar with the area. With that being said, I would love any advice, or things to look out for, while we are trying to make a decision on where to buy a house and hopefully stay for the next 5+ years.

From everything we have seen and been told so far, it seems like a lot of young families live in the Prosper/Little Elm/Celina area. Looks to be a 40-60 min commute for me on the way home, but the neighborhoods there are more in our price range and seem like they are a good place for young families.

There are some really nice new builds up there that I think we would be able to make work, but I'm just slightly worried about the drive. If it's actually only 40 minutes on most days then that's not too bad, but if it gets consistently at an hour, that is quite a bit of time in the car and time missed at home. Heading north from Addison on the Dallas Tollway, once you hit Prosper and have to keep heading north to Celina, or West to Little Elm, does traffic get really backed up there or is it not too bad?

I would appreciate any advice you guys might have, and we are extremely excited to be getting back to Texas! Guns Up!
