Hopefully the Rockers don't lay another egg vs their daddy, the Warriors. They got some good news. Suns won coin flip with Portland so Rockets will have the 9th pick and about a 25 percent chance of a top 4 draw. Two years ago, noone expected the terrible Rockets to be swapping a 25th pick in 2025 for a Suns, with Beal,Booker,and Durant, lottery pick. The Rockets playoff performance will determine whether they are patient with this young team or go all in with a big trade.
Suns are in NBA purgatory. Their 3 superstars make close to a combine $160mil next season with a team cap fine of over $50 mil. Beal is washed up but makes $108 mil over the next two yrs with a no trade clause. They're shopping Durant's last yr and $55 mil but how much do teams give up for a 1 year rental at his age and salary. It does no good to tank since they won't have a decent pick for 5 years. They'd love to get their first round picks in '25 '27 and '29 back from Rockets and then tank.
