well tomorrow is when RS starts and we know our great University will start with $20,500,000.00 to distribute to student athletes. From prior meetings about half and hopefully more with come from Big Money Donors and just donors like myself. It is important to contribute even if you opposed to this like a lot of people are.
Football will get approximately 75% of the $20.5 or $15,375
Mens basketball will get approx 15% of the $20.5 or $3.075
the remainder will get approx. 10% of the $20.5 or $2.05
We may or may not like the distribution of money to the sports but it is important that football and mens basketball is successful to have any chance to increase the brand and stay up with schools who start with $40 million more that we do with TV money.
Do we start paying athletes at the end of the month?, are they paid monthly or just when they are in season? I assume taxes are being withheld? Are we going to plan on spending all $20.5 or keep say $500,000 around for an emergency plan.
At this time our brand and conversations and print articles have never been better.
