I was DMing with this Louisiana DE/LB last night, and he dropped me this quote:
"The def line coach said they want to offer me right now but the way they are set up , the def coordinator like the positions coaches to see the recruit in person first so he's coming by for spring next month and should offer but they said they really like me and I can do some big things for them."
If it wasn't obvious yet, Gibbs and the defensive coaches are still full speed ahead on the "must see in person" strategy. I thought there might be a bit of leeway this class but the quote above confirms that this strategy is not going anywhere under Gibbs.
The evaluation period starts on April 15, so I would circle that day as the day to keep an eye on for more DL/LB offers.
Anyways, just wanted to offer up a quick update. The Louisiana prospect above also spoke with coach Patrick while he was here and has had frequent contact with coach E. Jones over the past few weeks.
