A well-placed source tells me that Iowa's Derrick Mitchell is getting his paperwork to Tech and will enroll in summer classes at Tech. Will be a grad student (if he passes classes and graduates on schedule this month) and eligible right away.
I haven't heard much here since his name was floated around a couple of months ago. (Did a forum search but can't wade through all the Mike Mitchell/Derrick Dixon junk...) If folks don't remember, Mitchell was passed by on the depth chart in Iowa, only two carries in 2016, but was possibly a WR/"slash" for us?
Not sure if he'd be a huge boost for our woeful 2016 run game, but it definitely wouldn't hurt.
