It seems to have become the new attack word that supposedly automatically eliminates someone from any position. You can add homophobic and a few others but racism is the biggest.

Seems it falls just under murder in the list of negative attributes we want in others.
a list might look something like this
Murder
racist
Liar
corrupt
thief
inept

Now...everything on this list is an action that directly harms individuals a with one exception..racism is about what someone "thinks". yes...it can manifest into harmful actions but in and of itself it is basically just thoughts. repugnant yes..but thoughts. So now we have pressure to make people all think alike or suffer consequences. Of course we really see this on college campuses but it can spread.
In todays world now racism is not even thoughts...but interpretations of what someone says and THAT can lead to being ostracized as something akin to a murderer. Trump was never thought of as a racist until he ran for office. he was on oprah's show how many times saying almost the exact same things and now he is racist. The Clintons were buddies and New York black entertainers all wanted to cozy up to him but NOW heis racist and basically it is because he is saying the same thing the dems have been saying the last 20 years.

Lets assume that he indeed in fact mildly racist. Does that mean he cannot do his job? Abraham Lincoln was pretty darn racist by todays standard. he was against blacks voting and against mixed marriages among other things. That is WAY beyond what any main politician has been in the last 50 years and yet..he was able to help eliminate slavery. If Trump has racist tendencies but he brings jobs back to inner cities and that lowers crime in those areas isnt that preferable to having a black person in the white house who is "down for the struggle" but does nothing to actually help the situation?

Just a bit of a rambling rant but I am getting so tired of the labeling [and mostly inaccurate labeling} that is so prevalent today. If someone disagrees with a policy then by all means dissent but employing nothing but name calling and false narratives to destroy your opponent is becoming tiresome. .02
