More later or tomorrow after I have time to reflect, but off hand I'm pretty dang pleased with this win. It took a monster effort from Rice to make it close - and it was closer than the final score, that's for sure.
People will bark about the Raider defense, but I thought for the most part the Raiders weren't giving up any open, easy looks. Rice was just hitting, and sometimes teams have games like that. Every team is tough when the jumpers fall, but on top of that these Rice guys can play.
It was interesting to me that Tech stayed with their switching man defense down the stretch. I'm not questioning the coaching, I'm just observing. A timely switch late did get one of their players out on fouls.
