It seems like Kevin McCullar would be getting more minutes on a lot of other teams. I know he's had two years off from basketball via injuries and he hasn't knocked all the rust off yet but man he looks like he can really play. I anticipate his minutes will creep up and his play will be better week over week. He gets up and down the floor at good speed, he's legitimately 6'6 and he looks long out there. When he's on offense on the perimeter he just towers over his defender. I'm looking for a big game from him sooner rather than later.

Chris Clarke looks good coming off the bench overall but some scoring will be helpful soon. At this point it's not a factor in winning, but those games are coming and I imagine that in conference games scoring will be magnified even more. Scoring aside, he's a really good player. He has a knack for rebounding, it's eerie how the ball seems to come down around him. He's a solid defender, part of that is what puts him in a good position for rebounds. He's physically strong and that will serve him well in conference play. I don't think he's likely to score 30 points in a game, or even 20, but some night he's going to score 10 - 15 points to go along with 6-7-8 rebounds and 5-6-7 assists and that's going to be a really nice game.

I'm not sure yet the best way to guard Tech. I think If I was defending Tech I'd sit back in a 3-2 zone and get out on Moretti and Ramsey and make everyone else prove it. I think the Raiders can shoot it, overall, but several guys who play big minutes don't have that long jumper in their repertoire. Shannon I would not guard outside of 10 feet until he proves it. The Raiders have done a really good job though of putting people in a position to succeed. That's why Tech has the best coach, or a reason amongst many.

Two seasons ago Tech had the only two teammates with the initials ZS. This season Tech has two TJ's, one in Holyfield and one in Shannon.

On Tech's schedule I've seen Iowa, DePaul, Kansas, Baylor, and Kentucky. Kentucky is the best of that bunch. I got bad news for DePaul...bad, bad, news. Iowa has a good guard they lean on, probably not a wise idea against Tech. I think the Raiders are going to have a lot of opportunities to score against the Hawkeyes unless Chris Street and Jess Settles suit up for them. The Baylor zone looks tough as ever. Kansas lost to Duke but it took a zillion turnovers by KU for that to happen - I bet they cut down on the turnovers. Azubuike is still a liability anywhere on the floor outside of arm's reach of the hoop. Louisville has already played and won a road conference game but I have not seen them play.

Told you this would be quick!
