I'm not saying Duffey is all world, and he was 3rd string for a reason. His decision making is questionable on quite a few occasions, and he doesn't keep his eyes down field when he starts to scramble.
That being said, he has a total QBR of 73.4 on the season. He has faced Lamar WVU defense (#26 overall defense) and TCU (#12 overall defense).
I've gone down the list of total QBR on ESPN, and Duffey has a better rating than the following:
Sam Ehlinger - Tex - 70.9
Charlie Brewer - bu - 69.5
Kellen Mond - aggy - 69.1
Shawn Robinson - tcu - 65.4
Zeb Noland - ISU - 65.4
JT Daniels - USC - 62.6
Jarrett Stidham - Auburn - 56.2
Terry Wilson - UK - 51.0
Duffey's 73.4 QBR would rank him, if he qualified, tied for 31st in the country. I know we all had a problem with QB depth last year, but what Kingsbury has done this year with the injuries to that position, has been nothing short of impressive. I'm guessing Duffey will start next weekend vs KU, and then we will hopefully see Bowman back for ISU. However, Duffey clearly brings a different element to the offense, as was demonstrated on his long TD run.
