- Getting right to it – your starting QB is expected to be McLane Carter, per Double T 97.3 pregame show. McLane hardly ever had a bad day in camp. He showed up and competed every single day and has the upper-hand with his experience. There is no clear backup QB though. It is said that Bowman is the better passer and Duffey is the better runner.
- More from Level and the guys on the radio show, Jah’Shawn Johnson will warm up on the field pregame but will not play. He’s one of the few safeties who won’t see game time but expect John Bonney, who recently joined the team to play quite a bit. Kliff Kingsbury mentioned Bonney, Quincy Addison, Vaughnte Dorsey and Thomas Leggett earlier this week as guys who could fill-in at that spot. Justus Parker will be lining up at nickel but he could transition over at safety as well. Let's watch out on how this affects the Ole Miss passing game. They're packed with some talented receivers.
- Lonzell Gilmore will be limited today and won’t see much playing time. This is why he wasn’t listed in the two-deep depth chart. He’s coming off of knee and shoulder surgery and is being eased back in. He is the only guy though that sounds to be limited from the d-line, which is filled with guys that can rotate in.
- Other than that everyone is a go, according to guys on the ground in Houston. We’ll have Matt, Jack and Ben there at NRG. It’s game time.
