We have learned of another potential roster update for the new coaching staff...
As most here know, defensive back Jaylon Lane did not play this past season due to grade issues.
Per sources, Lane did not get into trouble or fail a drug test, etc/etc...he was simply removed from the team last season to address his grades, no redshirt or anything.
That being said, he remained in Lubbock and has been working on his grades.
New defensive coordinator Keith Patterson recruited Lane while at Arizona State and new defensive backs coach Julius Brown recruited Lane while at Boise State.
Lane and the new coaches have been in contact, and pending his grades improving, the former Red Raiders defensive back could rejoin the program as a walk-on later in the spring or summer of 2019.
