Rather than a hot board or messed together list of names, we are going to update this thread with any new names, rumors or possible targets for Texas Tech and Kingsbury over the next few weeks.
There are several spots to fill - OC, RB coach, DB coach, ST coach and the new 10th assistant.
----------
Jan. 3rd:
Texas A&M announced Jimbo Fisher's offensive staff today and made it official that Clarence McKinney would not be returning.
Tech and Kingsbury now have an opening with Juluke's departure made official yesterday, plus Kingsbury and McKinney worked together at A&M and Houston, so there is history there.
McKinney is a tremendous recruiter, former Houston area txhsfb head coach and assistant, very tied into the high school scene in Texas.
----------
Jan. 3rd:
After making several inquiries about possible targets, a few colleagues reminded me that The American Football Coaches Association annual convention is being held in Charlotte this weekend.
We were able to confirm the Tech coaches will attend, still not sure who all is attending from the staff though.

It does not look like Dykes will retain Van Malone as the DC at SMU. Before becoming the DC for Chad Morris at SMU, Malone spent several years coaching defensive backs at OkState and Texas A&M.
He knows the state and played at the college & NFL levels.

Ricky Logo, former Colorado State DL coach, was not retained after three seasons with the Rams. He worked on Gibbs’ at Houston previously.
Tech obviously has a DL coach, but the 10th assistant spot is certainly an option.

A very reliable source messaged me this morning and mentioned that Texas Tech could be hiring Kenny Carter as the program's new running backs coach.
We are working to confirm, just wanted to share for now.
Carter's bio
3:24 p.m. - now being told this is not happening, will continue adding updates as they come through.
