I did this last year and received a ton of support so here it goes again. Please support my Daughter's charity bike ride event by going to tourdefrio.org. It is a Charity bike ride event and silent auction we host in Leakey, TX on the Frio River in a little community call Frio Canon. You can sponsor, donate, participate, and support. The event has grown and will feature a tequila tent by Dulce Vita Tequila as well as a beer tent, and tons of great food. Not to mention you can hang out on the Frio River all day!
Why do we do this? My Daughter, Harper was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was just on week old and last Sunday she turned 2. What is Cystic Fibrosis? Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. In people with CF, a defective gene causes a thick, buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas and other organs. In the lungs, the mucus clogs the airways and traps bacteria leading to infections, extensive lung damage and eventually, respiratory failure. In the pancreas, the mucus prevents the release of digestive enzymes that allow the body to break down food and absorb vital nutrients.
Where do the proceeds and donations go you ask? 100% of the proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. What is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation you ask?
The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment, and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care. The CF Foundation is the world’s leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis, and nearly every CF-specific drug available today was made possible with their financial support. They are a donor-funded, 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is fully accredited by the Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) Wise Giving Alliance program.
All I am looking for is support and participation, likes, shares, and bumps are equally important to our cause. So if you cannot donate, sponsor, or participate, please give me a bump so this gains some traction.
