Got an email this AM; job alert: Penn State Child Protection Center needs a clinical psychologist.
Felt a little vomit in my mouth, and my initial reaction was "if anyone shouldn't have something like that, its them". Immediately equated it to an idea for a Zoolander-esque "Baylor Center for Footballs that Cant Rape Good and Other Abusive Things" and though how disturbing it was.
Feeling too intrigued, I looked into Penn State's center and it looks like it's a legit response to negative events of their past and at least a surface level desire for change. Their center looks to be brand new and an NIH 11 million dollar grant funded ordeal.
So I ask: is it good for a place where horrible shit has gone on to develop something like this, or should they be forced to stay away from that topic for a long time due to the shame of what happened?
