OT: then and now
I recently had my fifth knee surgery from injuries playing high school football in the 1960,s. I am now 65 but when I first injured my right knee on a clip on a kickoff return in Hondo Texas it did not seem to be a big deal. Last game in Eagle Pass Texas I injured my left knee on a punt return. I have had three surgeries on my left knee and two on the right. I am limping around on two bad wheels and the next surgery I have will be complete replacements. I am wondering if any of you all have had injuries in high school football that are becoming real issues as you get older? Also if any of you older red raiders have had knee replacements and how did your experience turn out? Thanks for you input in advance. Guns up. Mike Nell
