As some of y'all know, I'm finishing up my 4th year of campus ministry on the Tech campus with an organization called "Christians at Tech". It's been amazing -- not without it's trials -- but I love it! Just wanted to brag a bit on the students in our ministry (and the drawing power of the Word of God!) -- I know this will get lost in all of the basketball news and discussion, but I couldn't help but share.

We made it a club-wide goal for the 2022-2023 school year to read 1,000,000 verses of the New Testament (we hit 900k last year). We celebrated hitting that milestone on Wednesday -- and it's only March! We offer a daily Matthew - Acts (first semester), Romans - Revelation (second semester) New Testament reading schedule, so everybody in our club is on the same daily schedule and reading the same daily chapters -- which really helps with accountability and buy-in! More than 200 students have logged (through our club's email system) time in the Word of God this year, more than 150 have logged substantial time in the Word, and 100 18-22 year-old college students are on track to finish the entire New Testament this year alone! Praise the Lord! I still hold to the fact that most of the guys in our organization are still college-aged knuckleheads, but it's been awesome to watch and observe the impact that daily handling the Word of God can do to enrich the lives of college students.

As we have probably observed (especially with recent MBB events) and can testify to in our own personal walk with Christ, reading the Bible doesn't necessarily make you a good person but the transformative power of the Bible is very well documented. And to be pickled with the Word as a COLLEGE STUDENT is certainly Satan-shaming and God-glorifying and will absolutely be a foundation for these students long after they leave Lubbock. There is nothing more satisfying, in my opinion, than getting to have a front row spot to seeing Christ establish a foothold through His Word, in so many students' lives.

There are college students at your university, the Texas Tech campus, who can testify, through personal Bible reading experience, that these verses are true:

"Jesus answered, 'It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Matthew 4:4

"I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food."
Job 23:12

Not only are these students realizing early in their walk with Christ that they NEED the Word to live, they are starting to TREASURE the Word as well. So awesome! I think the future is bright!

(Shout-out to all the other ministries at Texas Tech that are pushing back Satan's Kingdom as well 💪🏻).
