An Aggy professor was presenting a lecture in Galveston on the opioid crises and apparently in the talk was some criticism of Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, the emptiest of suits. In the audience was the Aggy daughter of the former Land Commissioner, whom Patrick had once endorsed and has close ties.
Daughter makes a few calls and it works its way up the chancellor, who incredibly takes action on something as mild as this. So much for academic freedom and freedom of speech. Expectations are she will be fired after first being suspended.
There's the botched hiring of the journalism dean, the resignation of the president, and now this. I know someone who worked directly under Sharp. What's he said about Sharp, what I've read about him, and his trying to stop the Tech Vet School as a hill to die on, is confirmation that Sharp is an asshole of the highest order.
