Taking a family vacation starting next Sunday for a week. Just now planning where to go and what to do (long story).
Will be me, Mrs RedRdr and teenage daughter. Flying into SLC. Thinking of spending a day in that area and then heading north (Jackson, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, etc). The plan is to see a part of the country none of us have seen. Realize that this is probably the busiest time of the year there, but that is what we want to do/see.....not bright to wait so long to plan.
Looking for any advice on:
Any other ideas (not on the list above)for that part of the country would be appreciated. We are pretty wide open for a plan.

- Things to do/see in a day or two around the SLC area (not even sure that is worth spending time)
- Places to stay near Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, etc.
- Ways to see "wildlife" (animals)
- Places for 1/2 day hikes or fishing experiences
