It feels like offseason, so here we go.
I had an argument with a friend the other day. My friend said him and his fiance went to see "La La Land" a few months ago. Apparently, the fiance wasn't digging it about 30-45 minutes into the movie, so they decided to bail. My friend proceeded to demand a refund from the theater because they said the movie was "terrible". What blows my mind is, the theater actually gave him a refund.
I told my friend he was being a cheap ass and it's his own subjective opinion if a movie sucked and the onus is on him to research a movie prior to purchasing a ticket to decide whether or not it was worth his time and money. My friend of course said he disagreed and said it wasn't a big deal because they weren't leaving towards the end of the movie, and proceeded to say the movie was "terrible".
Am I crazy or is this ridiculous? Should you be able to request refunds for movies because you weren't enjoying it? I know @W. McKay @A. Dickens frequent the theaters. Thoughts? Has anyone else pulled this move?
