Came across these UH legislative successes thanks to UHPAC and wondered if Tech has something similar.

Dear TIMOTHY,
The 2015 Legislative session has concluded. The University of Houston came out way ahead. Thanks to our UH PAC's contributions to elected officials and the testimony of our superstar president, Renu Khator, we did great.
Over $360 million to build seven major buildings at the four universities in the UH System was provided, including money to start a new campus in Katy. Thank you, Representative John Zerwas and Senator Kel Seliger, for authoring the bill and also to Representatives Garnet Coleman, Carol Alvarado, Geanie Morrison, Dennis Paul, Ed Thompson, Rick Miller, Mike Schofield and Senators Rodney Ellis, Lois Kolkhorst, and Larry Taylor for each working to assure the buildings within their districts were finally approved.
A bill transferring 16 very valuable acres at the entrance to our Sugar Land Campus from TxDOT was passed. Thank you, Representative Rick Miller and Senator Lois Kolkhorst.
A special appropriation of $4 million for the UH Hobby Graduate School for Public Policy was passed. Thank you, Rep Garnett Coleman and Senator Rodney Ellis.
A 50% increase in the Higher Education Fund will provide an extra $26 million a year to the UH System. Thank you, Senator Kel Seliger.
UH Clear Lake received $6.5 million in funding for starting freshman and sophomore classes. Thank you, Senator Larry Taylor and Representatives Greg Bonnen, Dennis Paul (a Cougar) and Ed Thompson (a Cougar).
UH got an extra $18 million from the Texas Research Incentive Program. Thank you, Representative John Otto from Dayton.
Much of our success came in the last hours of the session because Representative Senfronia Thompson (a Cougar), as chair of the Local and Consent Calendar, got three important bills before the House in the waning hours.
Major thanks also go to Representatives Alma Allen, Dwayne Bohac, Harold Dutton, Jessica Farrar (a Cougar), Patricia Harless, Ana Hernandez (a Cougar), Dan Huberty, Borris Miles, Jim Murphy, Wayne Smith, Hubert Vo (a Cougar), Armando Walle (a Cougar), Gene Wu, Senator Paul Bettencourt and to Senators Joan Huffman, Robert Nichols (a Cougar) and Royce West (a Cougar) and, the very important, John Whitmire (a Cougar).
In spite of a major effort on the part of our friends in the legislature including Representative Sarah Davis (a Cougar), Representative Trent Ashby, Representative Garnett Coleman and Senator John Whitmire, we were unable to get equal formula funding for UH Pharmacy passed, but we moved the ball way down the field for the next session.
Cougar Representative John Zerwas was able to get the Campus Carry Bill watered down to permit gun-free zones on campus.
We are blessed in Texas to have great statewide leaders, all of whom put a high priority on Higher Education. Governor Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Patrick and Speaker Straus are all close friends, they are major supporters of UH and they love our president.
To help achieve our future goals, the UH PAC will continue to support those elected officials and candidates who understand the importance of higher education and academic excellence at the University of Houston.
