I get to take this little fella home in a couple weeks. He’s a Dogue De Bordeaux (French Mastiff) and his name is Teddy. (please ignore the breeder’s corny glamour shot background):

I’m a big golden retriever guy, but my girl friend grew up with mastiffs. I was only hesitant because of the short life expectancy, but it didn’t take much to get me on board.
Here are his parents:
I also grew up with a Yellow Lab and German Shorthaired Pointer. The lab was the best dog I ever owned, and while the GSP was completely neurotic, she was a great dog too. Both lived to be 14.
Bonus pics for the “adopt, don’t shop” crowd - here are my parents golden retrievers. I have been living vicariously the last few years. Zooey (right) was from a breeder, but Murphy (left) is the most handsome “rescue dog” I’ve ever seen. Both are unbelievably sweet dogs.
I have many more pics of all of these dogs, but I’ll shut up and let everyone else show theirs. If anyone has any experience with mastiffs, tell me about them.
