This has definitely been the year my family has needed others and this boards T & Ps. After our loss at the beginning of the year, my wife is now 22 weeks pregnant with our second boy. We then found out last Tuesday night that she has breast cancer.
This completely caught us off guard as we were told it was first an abscess, then what looked like benign masses, to it’s cancer. She’s had no family history at all. We’re told that she’s going to be okay and that we caught it early.
We go tomorrow to get the mastectomy scheduled in the next few weeks. Then, once the baby is born it’s chemo for 6 months, then radiation, and a pill for ten years. That’s the game plan at least.
Our 3 littles ones don’t know what’s going on so she’s been keeping it together during the day but it hits like a ton of bricks at night.
